MANCHESTER BASED – SATURDAY STUDY – NCFE LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE FOR AIRLINE CABIN CREW
The Course:
Within the travel and tourism industry, cabin crew still plays an extremely important role within the airline sector and great emphasis is still paced upon finding the perfect candidates for this demanding and extremely rewarding job. With this in mind the course has been designed to provide students with the underpinning knowledge required to work effectively as a member of an airline cabin crew and provide the tools needed to deliver the highest level of standard and service to satisfy even the most difficult passenger.
It is ideal for those wishing to find employment as cabin crew, those in industry wishing to develop skills in a new job role, those in employment wishing to change career or those who wish to enhance their studies in travel and tourism

This course will not only give you the opportunity to investigate the various areas of cabin crew but will also upon successful completion guarantee you interviews for a position with Thomas Cook, BMI & Monarch Airlines.
The course also includes:
* One practical training day at East Midlands using TUI’s Mock Aircraft
* One ‘A day in the life as a cabin crew’ training day at Gatwick with Monarch Airlines
* Trainers who are also current Cabin Crew
The course is made up of six mandatory units as follows:
* Understanding the airline industry and the role of airline cabin crew
* Promote effective customer care in the airline industry
* Maintain effective team working and communication in the airline industry
* Contribute to the Health & Safety of airline passengers
* Contribute to aviation security
* Demonstrate an understanding of the airport arrival process
These different units promote good practice in cabin crewing by working towards national standards which will provide students with the qualification for entry to the airline industry.
The Qualification:
The NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Cabin Crew has been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, and is part of the National Qualifications Framework.
This qualification has been endorsed by BMI, the UK’s second largest full service airline.
The NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Cabin Crew is run and operated by Oyster Travel Training Services Ltd in partnership with Cabin Crew Coaching.
Course Start Dates, Duration & Location:
This course is operated three times a year, the next forth-coming courses will commence on Saturday 19th June 2010. Each course will run over a period of 15 weeks taking place on Saturdays from 10.00 until 16.00. This course is studied at Best Western Princess On Portland Hotel in the heart of Manchester. Please note two dates of your course will be conducted at different locations.
Course Entry Guidance:
Good understanding of English both spoken and written.
Prospective candidates should be made aware that airline recruitment procedures, although they may vary, generally require the following specifications in prospective employees:
* a minimum age of 18
* the right to live and work in the EU
* an excellent standard of health which may be subject to medical examination by the airline
* height between 5′2 – 6′2 with weight in proportion
* ability to swim 25 metres
Resource Requirements:
Students to supply notepads, pen etc. Access to the internet will at times be required. The IT suite is available to all students at Greenwich School of Management.
Course Fees:
The course is £565. A complete application form from our website www.oystertraveltraining.co.uk and a £130 registration fee will be required to secure your place on this course. The balance of fees is due at the start of the course or alternative there is a payment plan of three instalments.
