Travel Industry – Travel Account Development Executive – Edinburgh – Up to £17k


A Travel Account Development Executive is required by one of the world’s leading tour operators, who operate in over 200 different travel markets, and consistently recognised as being one of the best in their field.  As Travel Account Development Executive you will grow existing customers and convert opportunities generated by the sales team, re-contract group series tours and develop relationships with existing and potential customers.


As Travel Account Development Executive you will:


  • Know the planning cycles and provide the right products and prices within client deadlines.
  • Become familiar with the markets for which you are responsible: who are the competitors, expectations, how they work, etc
  • Be clear on how existing clients can grow and what the potential new clients are
  • Ensure that you deliver on your key targets including, quote turnaround times, conversion levels on enquiries, % return on offer and after travel sales calls
  • All new enquiries to be qualified and followed-up by telephone whenever possible
  • Handover of converted business to the Customer Delivery Manager in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Follow correct quoting procedure and be aware of which hotels to promote
  • Be commercially aware, protect margin and look to maximise returns
  • Be clear at all times on how performance is against target
  • Adhere to the pricing policy
  • Provide scanned images, brochure material when required
  • Visit clients abroad if required
  • Organise and accompany clients, potential clients on FAM Trips, inspection trips.
  • Produce regular special offers to be sent to existing, potential customers for which you have responsibility for developing.
  • Assist the Customer Delivery and Product teams should the need arise, cross-training will be provided
  • Assist with product development by being constantly aware of new products by:
  • Keeping abreast of new hotels, entrances or events that arise
  • Making use of the current range of contracted services
  • Responding to demands by customers or sales staff and communicating


The successful Travel Account Development Executive you will have a background in the travel or hospitality/hotel industry with a desire to develop your career with a leading travel tour operator.  You will have excellent communication and people skills, being able to develop relationship with clients in a B2B environment.  As Travel Account Development Executive you wil have exceptional customer service and be results driven, displaying excellent attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions and to work on own initiative and in a team.
