Accounts Payable Clerk – Travel – London – Up To £25k

Our client, a well-established Travel Group have an immediate opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their Accounts Department. This is a great opportunity to join this company at an exciting time and become an integral member of a really friendly, fun Finance and Administration team. This is a fixed term 6 month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent thereafter.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk are:

  • Make supplier payments (tour operator, cruise line, airline etc.)
  • Process travel agent client money bank reconciliations (Sage 50 & Excel)
  • BACS processing
  • Oversee general back office administration duties
  • Have daily liaison with Travel Agents and Suppliers

Skills required of the Accounts Payable Clerk are:

  • Working with finance and accounting procedures
  • Working with Sage 50
  • Processing bank reconciliations
  • Making purchase ledger and supplier payments
  • Using MS Excel (intermediate level: e.g. knowledge of formulas)
  • Building healthy relationships with clients / or working in a client facing role
  • Working in the travel industry /understanding travel industry regulation (e.g. ABTA, CAA)


The Accounts Payable Clerk are would ideally suit a dynamic Accounts Assistant who has worked for a Travel Agency or Tour Operator.
