Africa Product Executive

This specialist tailor-made luxury Tour Operator are looking to expand their Product team within their Africa destination.
As a Product Consultant your role will be:

  • To support the business commercially providing rate analysis, competitor analysis
  • To ensure that written representation of the product is accurate
  • To ensure that what is delivered on the ground in each country is at the cutting edge of what is offered in the UK market
  • To ensure that the knowledge of the specialists is up to date and that they have the tools they need to be able to sell effectively

Your role with also encompass:

  • Contracting/Commercial development
  • Product Development & Refinement
  • Marketing & E-commerce
  • Sales team interaction
  • Customer Service and Operations

You will need to have:

  • Experience of buying within the travel industry. The person must be working in a product role in travel currently.
  • The person will have a real passion for the area they are working within along with a strong appreciation of the culture.
  • A confident communicator, who is resilient to pressure, whilst remaining calm and clear minded.
  • A positive, outgoing and enthusiastic person who is comfortable interacting with others.
  • An individual capable of influencing and persuading others positively, both internally and externally.
  • The candidate needs to be able to work alone on projects and display high levels of initiative and self-motivation.
  • With a strong desire to get things right, the candidate will be a natural organiser who is up to speed and be able to multi task.
  • They will have a keen interest in how the company works, what the strategy is and how their role impacts this and how their actions impact the company’s overall performance.
  • The person will be motivated by achieving results and feel at ease negotiating with suppliers.
  • Understanding how important customer service is, the person will be able to appreciate what it’s like being a client and what their expectations are, in order to exceed them.


  • The Product Executive is required to communicate with many different people in many different ways, so requires a high level of selfconfidence.
  • The Product Executive role requires high levels of organisation in order to effectively manage multiple projects of different size and scale at various stages of completion.
  • The Product Executive must retain a deep appreciation of the company’s selling style and ensure all work appropriately supports this approach.
  • The Product Executive must be confident at analysing figures and understanding the importance of profits/performance
  • The Product Executive role requires the person to be an effective problem solver, who appreciates urgency and necessary timescales. o When making decisions the person must take into consideration the impact their decision has on employees, clients, the team, suppliers and the company.

Numerical skills:

  • The candidate must have an instinctive feel for numbers, have familiarity with analytical methods and feel comfortable presenting numerical analysis to a non-expert audience.
  • Strong English skills are essential.
  • It is important that the Product Executive is confident with IT, particularly MS Excel.

Country & industry knowledge:

  • The Product Executive should be knowledgeable and passionate about the region in which they are working. They should have a strong appreciation of the culture and what the place can offer to the company's clients. In addition, the person must be aware and up to date with competitors in terms of their performance, product and marketing campaigns.
