Africa Travel Reservations Executive, Up to £27k plus comm, London

An Africa Reservations executive is required to join the reservations department of highly acclaimed travel company.  Our clients team get involved in all aspects of the business. Everyone organises trips for travellers from start to finish; everyone gets involved with PR and marketing; everyone helps develop our programme; and everyone works creatively on our brochure and our website. If you are keen, and have the ability and aptitude, then we will give you the opportunity to grow and specialise.  

You will already have first-hand experience of some of the countries in    Africa that we feature. You will have detailed, up-to-date knowledge of these countries, their attractions, and especially their national parks and safari camps. To be successful, you will need to be enthusiastic and intelligent, conscientious and co-operative; you will always take your duties seriously and make decisions carefully. Excellent communication skills are important, as are solid basic computer skills. A high level of literacy is vital, you will be adept at expressing your ideas in writing, and there’s great scope for a keen writer to develop that skill and contribute to articles and guidebooks.

An aptitude for IT, SEO and web-related issues would be a great asset, whilst an interest in photography (still and video) would be a bonus. Of course, it should be obvious that you’ll also need to demonstrate a genuine passion for Africa, probably including an interest in its wildlife, ecology and cultures. Our flexible approach has been very successful – and provided new team members have the right approach and ethos, they can grow swiftly into roles, including senior roles, which suit their abilities and experience. Our clients staff turnover is exceedingly low, they tend to hire and keep team members! Our client will never ask you to ‘hard sell’ anything, to ‘switch-sell’ places or to ‘up-sell’ things to our travellers – which are all techniques uses by our competitors.
