Assistant Leisure Travel Branch Manager - Sussex - £19k + commission & excellent travel benefits

Would you like to work for a well-established Travel company with stores/contact centres around the UK, selling tailormade travel itineries to destinations worldwide in a dynamic, target-driven, passionate environment. If so, they are looking to recruit an Assistant Manager in their Sussex branch to support the Sales Manager to ensure the Sales Team meets targets and goals by overseeing all aspects of the sales process, ensuring profitability and service is maximized for the business.

You will :

  • Assist the Sales Manager to provide management support for consultants in own retail branch, extending to supporting others remotely, where necessary.
  • Support Manager in achieving team targets
  • Assist with motivation of Sales Consultants on a daily basis
  • Maintain sales focus at all times on sales floor
  • Mentor and support new staff
  • Act as Duty Manager when requested by Sales Manager
  • Handle escalated customer complaints to arrive at a mutually satisfactory outcome
  • Collate and communicate feedback on success of promotional activity
  • To QC new sales bookings ensuring all parts of the booking are considered and match and that the “best pricing” is used, to advise and instruct sales on best practice to maximize sales
  • In conjunction with the sales manager ensure that ALL advertising, pricing and discounts are communicated to the entire team and their understanding is confirmed
  • Assist Sales Manager in interviewing and recruiting new Sales Consultants
  • Communicate targets, standards & expectations effectively at all levels
  • Actively participate in Team Meetings, or conduct in Sales Managers absence
  • Assist Sales Manager with coaching to ensure that the standards of new consultants rise quickly and established consultants reach KPIs as a minimum
  • Achieve monthly sales targets as agreed with Sales Manager
  • Achieve Team Sales Target as agreed with Head of Sales
  • Respond to all enquiries professionally and promptly
  • Use sales skills and training to maximise all opportunities to make sales
  • Identify and coach on aspects of underperformance within the team
  • Use personal travel experience to provide excellent advice to all customers
  • Take full responsibility for administration of own bookings and advise customers directly of progress


Person specification: Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Must have a proven track record in a management/team leader capacity
  • Proven track record in coaching team members
  • Must have previous experience of travel sales
  • Willing and able to motivate and lead a team to achieve results
