We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Team Leader – Venues Team to work with our client, a true innovator and one of the UK’s leading Event Travel Management Companies who provide professional event management services which deliver value through creative and meticulously planned events, supported by the latest technology.

The Assistant Team Leader – Venues Team will closely with the Team Leader and be responsible for managing venue finding, and meetings and events coordination for a key client.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Team Leader – Venues Team Include:

  • Ensuring the venue sourcing team runs efficiently,
  • Line management, including monthly 1 to 1’s, training and KPI reviews
  • Key client stakeholder liaison and relationship management
  • Preparation of proposals using creativity and ‘outside-the-box’ thinking
  • Upselling of additional services
  • Preparation and management of venue and client contracts and payments
  • Adherence to processes and policies, as well as client processes and requirements
  • Supplier relationship management and negotiation

Required Competencies and Skills for the Assistant Team Leader – Venues Team role:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in the planning of corporate meetings and events
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Very strong interpersonal skills
  • Budget conscious, able to plan and keep costs within allocated budgets
  • A good team player
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Positive attitude, keen to work using own initiative
  • Prepared to make decisions when necessary
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritise deadlines
  • Previous line management experience is preferred but not essential
