Bar/Function Supervisor

Salary: 16,000

This role will involve working within a small team in a busy clubhouse environment. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Front of House/General Manager and deputise in their absence, to assist with the running of the bar and catering operation, including large functions and events.

Hours of work will include weekends and evenings. Work times will vary due to functions and the busy Christmas season that approaches. Own transport is needed due to the finish times of some shifts being outside of public transport schedules.

THE PERSON SHOULD

*Experience of working large functions
*Good Customer service skills
*Previous experience of bar supervision
*Ability to work independently on own initiative and also to contribute as part of a team
*Willingness and ability to be flexible
*Ability to get on well with a wide variety of people
*Previous experience of bar supervision
*Have good communication skills
*Have a warm friendly manner
*Be able to speak with confidence to all types of people
*Ability to manage relationships with tact and diplomacy
*Ability to work independently on own initiative and also to contribute as part of a team
*Willingness and ability to be flexible
*Ability to get on well with a wide variety of people

The person should have at least 1-year experience in the bar/hospitality industry

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

*To supervise and provide the daily operation of the Bar facilities at Weybrook Park Golf Club, including evening and weekends.
*To ensure that the standard of service delivery to members and visitors is of the highest possible quality, in a prompt and pro-active manner.
*To contribute to an effective operating and communication system between the Bar and the Kitchen

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

*To deputise for the bar/Front of House manager in his/her duties when they are absent and perform the position of Duty Manager
*To manage all staff within the guidelines set out in the company handbook and through the direction of the bar/Front of House Manager
*To provide alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to authorised customers, ensuring that proper standards of health, safety and hygiene are maintained.
*Ensure that all bar items and equipment is regularly maintained, clean, in good working order and safe to use, including the changing over of barrels and optics as necessary.
*To ensure that any defective or damaged equipment is reported immediately, and the appropriate corrective action is taken.
*Ensure that adequate stocks of bar supplies are always available, and stock is managed in a cost effective manner.
*To ensure that all seating and dining areas are kept in a clean and safe manner during opening hours.
*To enforce the Company rules and conditions of use in respect of members, visitors and employees.
*To ensure that the appropriate standards of dress are enforced in the Clubhouse by staff, members and visitors, and to ensure that a friendly and polite manner is used when speaking to people to enforce this dress code.
*To ensure that the cellar and other such appropriate storage areas are kept in a clean and safe manner, observing all relevant Health & Safety legislative requirements.
*To ensure that all monies are properly accounted for as per Club procedures, and cash reconciliation is carried out at the end of each day.
*To ensure that all cash is secured in a safe manner and any discrepancies are reported to the Front of House Manager immediately.
*To act as Key Holder as part of a call-out rota for building security alarm activations
*To accept cash for the use of the Company's facilities and services, and be familiar with all cash handling procedures including cash reconciliation.
*To ensure that all set-up and break-down requirements for parties, functions and events are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
*To assist in the ordering and serving of food in both the dining area and for bar snacks when required.
*To ensure their attendance at, and to assist or supervise as necessary with the set up, operation and breakdown of major functions, parties and events as required.
*To carry out any other duties commensurate with the level of the post that may be allocated by the Front of House Manager consultation with the post holder.
