Are you a highly motivated and experienced Travel Professional? Do you know the UK & Ireland like the back of your hand? If so, this could be your dream role! My client, a leading DMC within the UK and Ireland, is currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development & Customer Care Executive to join their busy team in Edinburgh. This internationally renowned Tour Operator pride themselves on their personalised service, so prior experience working in the Travel Industry is a MUST! If you are Travel Sales orientated and motivated, Business Development minded, are passionate about Customer Service and are well-versed in the UK & Ireland as tourism destinations... then look no further!

THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SIDE
*Develop and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients in the Groups Department (Mediterranean markets).
*Hands-on role in the Business Development function for the Mediterranean markets. This will involve the preparation and costing of proposed client programmes, and successfully converting leads into confirmed business.
*Using TourPlan to generate all client quotations and subsequent follow up, ensuring that confirmed proposals are accurately reflected in TourPlan.
*Any agreed sales and marketing activities - this could take form in desk-based activities or direct interaction with agents and/or clients.
*Assistance with the supervision of any trainees assigned to the area.
*Any other duties as assigned by your Manager or Director (this could be across other departments within the Abbey Group).
*You will report to the Business Development Manager and the Director of Customer Care.

THE CUSTOMER CARE/ACCOUNT HANDLING SIDE
*The Customer Care/Account Handling function covers the handling of groups from a range of European markets. The key to this is to ensure the smooth running of all requirements within the Group Operations department.
*Using TourPlan to generate all client and supplier communications, ensuring that confirmed proposals are accurately reflected in TourPlan, thereby facilitating a smooth and accurate Accounting process.
*Develop and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients in the Groups Department (Mediterranean markets).
*Requoting of ad-hoc group and series business as and when required.
*Meeting clients and attending Trade shows as appropriate and if required.
*Responsibility for operating the department's 24-hour emergency phone on a rotational basis.
*The position may also extend to cover support in any of the company's Groups and Operations Departments as the need arises.
*Any other duties include (but are not limited to) Contracting, Accommodation Services, and the processing of FIT Department bookings as assigned periodically by Company Directors.

DUTIES
*Undertake FIT client reservations in an efficient and customer-focused manner.
*Ensure agreed response times to clients are met and all reservations undertaken are accurate.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with clients under your care.
*Deliver first class customer service to our clients.
*Use TourPlan to ensure all procedures are adhered to as directed by your line manager.
*Work with the Business Development Manager to support in quoting programmes and rates to both new and existing clients.
*Make hotel and other service reservations, all whilst maintaining strong supplier relationships.
*Operate the department's 24/7 emergency phone on a ROTA basis.
*Undertake any other administrative tasks as assigned by your Manager, Supervisor, or Senior FIT Account Executives.
*Ensure the profit margin targets on bookings under your care are achieved as laid out in company pricing guidelines (per market) and as directed by your manager.
*Assist with other departments when needed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
*In-depth knowledge of the UK & Ireland as a tourism product and destination is essential.
*Fluency in Spanish and/or Italian is a distinct advantage.
*Experience using TourPlan is a distinct advantage.
*Excellent customer care and communication skills.
*Great team player with strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
*A friendly and diplomatic approach to clients.
