Business Development Manager 4 Travel Industry - London - upto £35k plus comm and car allowance

Reporting to the sales manager this fantastic opportunity offers you the chance to join a marketing leading company who are expanding nationally. The position offers home based employment within the sales and marketing department.
You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual joining one of the fastest growing and high profile companies in the sports travel industry, and at the same time working with some of the world’s biggest sporting clubs.

Purpose of the role:
• To lead a regional Business Development function in sales campaigns, delivering presentations to schools and third parties, attending conferences, exhibitions and corporate events.
• To have broad knowledge of the products that are provided to customers and the range of those products to be able to consult with new and existing customers.
• To lead the delivery of the annual Sales Plan to achieve the annual KPI’s/Targets for new targets and existing customers aligned with the Business Plan
• To lead the preparation of tender responses, presentations and any documentation required as part of the Pre Sales process
• To provide input into the product roadmap through the product forum

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

• Account Management - Generate recurring business through promotional/selling activities to clients in a geographical portfolio. Negotiate with client representatives at senior levels on both product and commercial issues, ensuring that such activities are aligned with corporate marketing objectives and sales targets. Ensures that organisational policy and strategy is adhered to. Provides informed feedback that contributes to promotional strategy and to product development.
• New Sales - The identification of sales prospects and their qualification, the development of customer interest and the preparation (including managing the bid process), execution and monitoring of the sale of any product or service into an external or internal market.
• Negotiate with customer representative’s at the most senior level on both product and commercial issues. Implements organisational sales policy and strategy, and contributes significantly to the development of marketing strategy. Initiates development and change in services, products and systems.
• Relationship Management To develop and maintain a strong relationship with key clients, clubs, colleges, universities, schools, governing bodies and third party suppliers. Taking the opportunity to promote the brand and exploring new initiatives that can improve the relationship.
• Stakeholder relationship management - supports business change, acting as a single point of contact for senior stakeholders, facilitating relationships between them. Ensures that stakeholders understand available services, and promotes commercial awareness in order to deliver value-for-money. Conducts analysis of demand for services and influences stakeholders to ensure that the necessary investments are made to deliver required services. Negotiates at senior level on product and commercial issues, to ensure that customers, suppliers and other stakeholders understand and agree what will meet their needs, and that appropriate service agreements are defined. Oversees monitoring of relationships including lessons learned and appropriate feedback. Initiates improvement in services, products and systems.
• Customer Service - To lead and promote excellent customer service across the team and the wider business especially to the customer and the Operations team in all aspects of programme delivery. Ensure that process and procedures are followed and clients (Party Leaders) are communicated with on a regular basis including post event administration.
• Product Understanding - An in depth understanding of all company products and procedures. To promote this knowledge across the department and to ensure that product knowledge is updated and current across all products. To research new projects and venues as required.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position you must have previous travel industry experience within a similar role

• Sales and Marketing orientated
• Academic Qualifications Required – degree in Business Administration or similar
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated, dedicated and approachable
• Ability to organise and prioritise work efficiently and effectively
• Ability to pre-empt, identify and react accordingly to a range of problems whilst following and adhering to company procedures
• Possess superb written and verbal communication skills and has the ability to deal with clients and suppliers both over the telephone and face to face whilst representing the business
• Keen interest and understanding of sport in general
• Maintain composure when dealing with stressful and difficult clients / suppliers
• Ability to learn in-house systems quickly
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Office
• Be prepared to represent the business at supplier events as required
• Full driving license
