Business Development Manager (Business Travel) – Scotland (Office based in the Glasgow area or Home based elsewhere in Scotland)

Our client, a leading Scottish based Travel Management Company, is currently looking to recruit a highly experienced Business Development Manager to joining their dynamic, ambitious & well established team.

*Please note that the successful Business Development Manager will work out of our client’s office in the Glasgow area or be based from home elsewhere in Scotland. You will be required to cover all areas of Scotland as a region, whilst also expanding into other parts of the UK.

The Role

As a Business Development Manager you will primarily be required to sell a range of the company’s services to the corporate sector, and be responsible for identifying, contacting & securing new business within the target market across Scotland and the UK. You will use your strong sales, negotiation & people skills to create new professional relationships within the corporate sector, to help you secure new business for the company, and ultimately drive the business forward. You will recognise new business opportunities, confidently tender for new business, manage & maintain the sales database, and represent the company to the highest possible standard. You will also set up & open new client accounts, and work closely with the operations team to ensure that these accounts are run as efficiently & profitably as possible.

Requirements

As a Business Development Manager you will have a proven track record working in a similar role for an independent or multiple Travel Management company in the UK, and have the ability to win new business in line with company targets. You will have a sound knowledge of travel management including the product & systems, and be highly motivated to deliver a strong performance from the outset. You will have solid account management experience, and have the ability to set up & open new accounts, whilst developing existing business. You will be a self-starter, with excellent organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively on all levels. Previous experience winning new business in the Scotland region will also prove an advantage in this demanding role.
