Business Development Manager - Corporate Travel - London - Salary Up To £35k

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our client, a Travel Management Company who provide an extensive selection of travel management services for leisure and business travellers and have a trusted reputation for delivering a consistently high level of customer service and satisfaction.

The responsibilities of the Business Development Manager will include:

  • Identify new business areas and approach potential customers with the aim of winning new business
  • Understand the needs of prospective clients, develop business opportunities, market growth areas and trends
  • Negotiate the terms of an agreement, fees and close sales
  • Plan and participate in prospective client meetings
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals, presentations and tenders.
  • Ensure prospective clients kept informed of new initiatives and services
  • Report on new prospective clients and pipeline business to MD
  • Assist with the implementation of new clients
  • Assist with the company's marketing strategy
  • Report on competitor activity and relevant travel industry news
  • Represent the company at trade exhibitions, conferences and events
  • Cold call prospective clients to arrange appointments
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person, via telephone calls and emails gaining repeat business wherever possible

The skills required for the Business Development Manager will include:

  • Track record of Business Development (ideally from a TMC background)
  • Be customer focused
  • Able to work to in a target driven environment
  • Outgoing and sociable
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate patience and perseverance
  • Strong IT Skills (Word, PowerPoint and Email)
  • Be capable of working on your own initiative
  • Flexible with regards to working hours – able to attend client/network events
