Travel Industry – Business Development Manager – Educational Tours – Total Package Up to £45k

 

A Business Development Manager is required by a leading provider of school adventure travel to lead a team that provide tailor made expeditions and adventures for schools across the UK. As Business Development Manager You will be playing a key role in a growing educational travel sales team, developing relationships with schools for this leading educational travel provider, helping give amazing learning and travel experiences to the next generation.

As Business Development Manager you will:

  • Provide strategic guidance to the team to help with the continued and successful growth of the educational travel team
  • Build relationships across educational institutions selling the benefits of educational travel as part of a balance curriculum
  • Have autonomy and overall responsibility for maintaining and improving the excellent performance, profitability and quality of the brand
  • Actively be selling and developing sales, part of your role you will be to lead, motivate and train your team
  • Report to senior management regularly on turnover, gross margin, quality and the overall performance of your brand
  • Proactively manages client’s satisfaction and service delivery by anticipating potential service issues and monitor satisfaction.
  • Listen to clients requirements with the purpose of creating new programmes to meet their educational and travel needs.
  • Closely work with the marketing department to ensure the maximum impact is achieved

The successful Business Development Manager will possess outstanding communication skills, a track record in sales and have an understanding of marketing principles. You must be very well travelled and have a clear understanding/experience of product development in the travel industry. As Business Development Manager you will need in-depth knowledge of the schools travel niche, as well as an ability to empathise with clients. Above all, the successful candidate must demonstrate drive, passion, commitment and belief in this exciting and innovative brand.

This is a full time office-based role, with some time spent visiting schools (mainly in the south of England), offering a great package including competitive salary, bonus scheme and sales commission, working in beautiful offices in the heart of Hampshire and offer opportunities for travel, training and development.
