Business Development Manager, £35K basic plus car and commission, OTE50K+ Field based.

Our Client who are a respected Independent Business Travel Company are looking for a Field based Business Development Manager who has experience of working within the Education sector. The ideal Business Development Manager will be a self motivated, target driven and an ambitious individual who has a passion for travel.

The responsibilities of the Business Development Manager are:

Develop profitable new business by effective territory management, including cold calling, generating leads, database search, client networking and referrals

  • Develop journey planning/schedules to ensure clients are managed effectively
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports and provide feedback to Head of Sales
  • Provide analysis of Business Travel purchasing data and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Prepare, analyse and deliver client management reports
  • Prepare and present information including RFI’s and Tender Proposals
  • Conduct client presentations and product training
  • Identify and attend client specific exhibitions and other promotional and networking events
  • Monitor competitor activity and Business Travel industry changes which may impact the companies clients



The skills required for the Business Development Manager are as follows:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent with demonstrable sales training undertaken
  • Experience of selling into the education sector
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with personable and professional presence and ability to influence at all levels
  • Ability to deliver short term results whilst building the strategic long term objectives.
  • Demonstrable energy, self-motivation and personal discipline
  • Demonstrate a high level of skills and experience in New Business Development and Account Management
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously and contribute fully within a team
  • Strong face to face negotiation skills
  • Ability to achieve targets and meet deadlines
