Business Travel Supervisor, London, Up to £38k

Our client is an expanding Business Travel Management Agency based in London that specialise in Media and Corporate Travel Accounts. The Team Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day running of the Travel Team and provide operational support during busy periods. This role reports directly to the Account Manager and Head of Operations.

The responsibilities of the Business Travel Supervisor are: -

  • First point of contact for the team specifically for troubleshooting problems and escalating to them when required
  • Responsible for the productivity levels and competence of the operations team and liaise with the Training Department to arrange appropriate training as necessary
  • Leads the on-boarding process to ensure new joiners settle quickly and have all the information they need
  • Update the team with new processes, policies and procedures as and when required
  • Have a strong understanding of the end-to-end booking process of all booking types (booking through to payment) and Travel MI including savings, budget and commission reports
  • Conduct regular formal and informal reviews with Travel Team staff. An annual formal written appraisal for each team member must also be undertaken, measured against their objectives
  • Sharing responsibility of being a contact (on call) for the out of hours service
  • Main point of contact for Finance / Admin / Account queries and distribution the queries to the team as necessary
  • Manage and assist with booking system queries and work with the technology team to resolve system failures
  • Super user of Connect tool: Support, encourage and work to develop the Connect tool, encouraging use amongst the team
  • Ensure service errors/complaints are logged and promptly actioned according to ISO procedures. A service failure file must be accurately maintained and areas of concern immediately reported to the Head of Operations, or Account Manager as appropriate

The skills required for the Business Travel Supervisor are:

  • Previous supervisory experience working in Business Travel managing a tea,m of Business Travel Consultants
  • Strong experience in dealing with suppliers and how to deal with challenging situations
  • Attention to detail and ability to juggle responsibilities and priorities
  • The ability to create a positive mindset and environment
  • Be process driven and able to work under own initiative and at all levels of seniority
  • Excellent fares and GDS knowledge
  • Being part of the phone rotation on answering calls from the main travel number
  • Contribute to answering emails from a shared email inbox
