(41307) One of Greycoat Lumleys' old clients are looking for a Caf Assistant to start immediately for a six month fixed term contract to join their small in house team. The Caf Assistant will be part of the firm's small in-house caf team, delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high levels of professionalism in keeping with the firm's cultural and behavioural expectations. Working Monday to Friday on rotating shifts of either 7:00-15:30 or 8:00-16:30. Main Responsibilities: o To respect, follow and implement all statutory and company hygiene, health and food safety procedures and regulations while in the building, and / or in his / her designated area. o To assist the Caf Supervisor in the production of rolls, sandwiches, and salads as specified by the Supervisor, and to assist the Supervisor in the service of food and hot and cold beverages. o To ensure that all equipment used for service are cleaned according to the company standards and used in an appropriate manner, as directed by the Caf Supervisor. o To prepare, stock and replenish both back and front of house fridges and displays, and vending machines. o To deliver a smooth, professional and quality orientated service, in line with the firm's standards and expectations. o To have an excellent knowledge of all products available to ensure that all customers receive accurate information with regard to product descriptions and ingredients. o To inform the Caf Supervisor of any comments made by customers or any ideas of their own for the improvement of quality and / or service. o To ensure that all hygiene and cleaning standards are adhered to at all times in his / her designated area (see daily and weekly cleaning roster), and to sign the roster and check-lists accordingly. o To assist the Caf Supervisor in the training and integration of any new starters and / or employees working and / or assisting in the Caf. o It is expected that from time to time on an ad hoc and planned basis there will be times when there will be a need to work in other areas of this building and others within the contract estate. All staff are expected to be flexible in their approach to work as the principles of cross training and multi skilling to other areas are fundamental to the work process. Caf profitability and use To follow cashless payment handling procedures and cash register policies.To follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines.To promote the use of the Caf, including by delivering an exceptional and memorable service to customers.To take opportunities to improve sales, when applicable and appropriate.To learn and monitor correct portion size and recipes of each specific menu item to limit wastage and to deliver consistency to customers. Barista responsibilities To learn and demonstrate the branded experience in accordance with the performance standards.To take personal responsibility for self-initiated learning. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time. Such duties will be reasonable in relation to the employee's skills, abilities, status, etc. Attributes / Skills required Demonstrates a real passion for food.Able to deliver high quality caf style dishes (such as freshly cut sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, etc.) under tight time constraints.Good communication skills.Hard working, efficient and flexible.Customer service oriented.Professional yet friendly manner, suitable for a corporate environment.Able to work under pressure, managing competing demands in a fast paced environment.Work well as part of a small team.High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience Previous caf or restaurant experience essential.Previous food preparation experience preferred (e.g. sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, etc.).Previous barista experience preferred Hours: Monday to Friday, either 07.00-15.30 or 08.00-16.30 Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays Salary: on application Start: ASAP Responsible consultants: Diana Cheal
