Compliance Manager - Travel Sector, London/ Scotland, £market

Our client a Business Travel Management agency with offices in London and Scotland is looking for a Compliance Manager to be responsible in implementing and maintaining GDPR the new data protection regulations, ISO and BS certified standards as well as looking at IT / Cyber security.

The responsibilities of the Compliance Manager are as follows:

  • Implement legal requirements (e.g. GDPR, DPA) and PCIDSS. Responding to and managing client or prospective client requests (e.g. questionnaires / audits) around areas related to these standards is a key part of this role.
  • Implement ISO27001
  • Implement IT security across the business ensuring certificates are updated and maintained.
  • Work with stakeholders to schedule project plans and schedules
  • Ensure internal staff are aware of their responsibilities for each of the standards so that we as a company are compliant.
  • Ensure that frequent refresher briefs / courses are run for staff as appropriate with pass / fail tests.
  • Conduct frequent internal audits so that we are assured of compliance at all times.
  • Ensure that all necessary policies etc. are available to staff in an accessible place and kept up to date.
  • Provide Marketing / Account Management / Business Development with briefs of the certifications we hold and why these are important in an easy to understand format.
  • Support the above by filling out questionnaires from prospective / existing clients in a timely manner. Work with the above to understand what requests may be in the pipeline.
  • Work with clients who may wish to audit us to facilitate this.
  • Keep up to date with related legislation to these standards
  • Constantly develop understanding of the business and its processes, establishing good working relationships with key staff, so that compliance is assured and continually improving.

To be successful in the Compliance Manager role the individual will have:

  • Is up to date with the new GDPR and DPA policies
  • Experience of working within the Travel Industry preferable but not essential
  • Experienced in implementing ISO from the start
  • Current or recent experience working in a similar role
  • Experience of some of ISO / BS / CyberEssentials / PCIDSS standards and implementing / maintaining these.
  • Demonstrates high levels of accountability and ownership of standards within the organisation.
  • Has the ability to self-manage and make excellent progress through prioritised organisation and planning.
  • Has excellent status reporting skills to senior management
  • Has the ability to work with customers to provide assurance to them around our compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Is confident with external auditsSome of ISO / BS / CyberEssentials / PCIDSS standards.
  • Strong aptitude and wish to fill any gaps in knowledge around standards required.
