A Contracts Manager is required by a well-respected established travel tour operator, a company that has built its reputation on its specialist knowledge, customer service and the ideas that they can give their clients.  As Contracts Manager you will be responsible for travel supplier relationships, alongside the management of the department, where you will undertake purchasing tasks for your market, building successful relationships with suppliers where you will work towards ensuring the department is buying at the best possible rates to maximise margins across a good travel product portfolio (e.g. hotels, restaurants, guides and coaches)

 As Contracts Manager you will:

 

  • Contract and place business across your designated region
  • Annually re-negotiate existing group allocation hotel agreements and negotiate new agreements with hotels
  • Annually contract of necessary non-hotel services such as entrances and restaurants
  • Negotiate better ad-hoc group rates with contracted and non contracted suppliers in key locations.
  • Providing relevant information for Product monthly newsletter
  • Giving feedback of accurate and competitive tariff rates for non-allocation hotels
  • Creating and maintaining accurate hotel lists/contact lists and area pdf maps
  • Adhere to all reasonable purchasing requests and ensure that groups are placed at the best possible rates
  • Achieve targets set in terms of allocation buying
  • Understand the needs of the clients and the markets in which the department is operating
  • Maintain and improve good relations with all suppliers
  • Develop product knowledge by participating in relevant FAM trips and undertaking visits when necessary.

 

The successful travel contracts manager will have strong negotiation skills, be highly accurate with an excellent attention to detail, with well developed written and verbal communication skills.  As contracts manager you will have a professional approach to work, with experience of contracting travel products on a regular basis.  You will have a full clean driving license and be able to travel at short notice and preferably have fluency in an additional language to English.
