An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cook to join Supported Housing scheme in Harlow, Essex.

The Cook will lead the kitchen staff to ensure a high level of customer service is provided at all times. You will ensure the catering services provided at Fitzwilliams Court are of a consistent quality, providing nutritious and enticing meals. This role will see you take responsibility for the kitchen budget including ordering food and appliances for the kitchen. You will be familiar with the customers and their needs, including health, religious and cultural requirements.

The total number of hours for this post will be 30 hours per week. The hours will be 9am - 3pm on a 2 week rota basis - Week 1, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Week 2, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Please be aware the salary will be pro rata to 15,384 per annum (9.86 per hour).

Who we are looking for

It is essential that you have previous experience working in a kitchen environment as a cook. You will have an understanding of customer led catering services, with respect for personal choice and in relation to health, religion and culture.

We are looking for an individual that possesses a positive, flexible attitude with customers and colleagues.

It is essential that you hold a Basic Food Hygiene level 2 qualification (achieved or renewed in the last 3 years) and an understanding of Health and Safety requirements.

Preferably, you will hold a professional cooking/catering qualification.
