Our well established client on the North Norfolk Coast are looking for a Cook to join their vibrant and enthusiastic team in their caf, close to the beautiful beach.
You would be responsible for the running of the kitchen, this will include ordering stock such as food, drinks and catering supplies, management of the stock, controlling wastage as well as cooking and creating quality dishes. You will be responsible for maintaining the high standards of hygiene in the kitchen and for the clearing down of your areas at the end of your shifts.
Fresh, local produce is used where ever possible however some products may be bought in due to the volume needed. This 'Grab and Go' menu is simple yet wholesome where the quality of the food leaving the kitchen is the most important factor. During busy periods, you will have a kitchen assistant however for the majority of the time you would be working alone but with regular interaction with the Front of House catering team so a really friendly and positive attitude is a must.
The ideal candidate will be able to bring fresh, new ideas to the table and be able to take ownership of the kitchen, with the guidance of a Food and Beverage Manager. You must also have an NVQ level 2 in Cookery as well as an up to date Food Hygiene certificate and a typical working week will consist of 40 hours over 5 days, and with straight shifts typically between 8:30am-5:30pm - a great work/life balance can be achieved!
