Are you an experienced Data Analyst / Software Engineer looking for a new position with a growing Travel Management company? Are you looking for a new challenge, this role is for the founding member of the data team;


JOB DESCRIPTION
Working with our product team, our software engineers and key business stakeholders to build an understanding of all the data underpinning our business.
You will prepare reports, dashboards and analyses on request using what we already have, while developing the data sets and infrastructure needed to automate as much as possible. As you explore and build your understanding, you'll begin to uncover insights and apply more statistical rigour to how we measure and develop our business through our data.

Key responsibilities
*Develop data sets from disparate sources in a Redshift SQL data warehouse;
*Work with software engineering teams to fill gaps in our data sources;
*Provide answers and key metrics using AWS QuickSight on top of
Redshift;
*Optimise Redshift and QuickSight to cope with our growing data requirements;
*Build a data practice that can respond to data requests or questions from across all departments of the business;
*Build an understanding of our data and use that to drive your own insights;
*Maintain and improve overall quality of our products.

Requirements
Must haves:
*Solid SQL experience, able to demonstrate real depth of knowledge;
*Data warehouse theory and practise;
*Confidence interacting with everyone from software engineers to senior leaders;
*Excellent written & verbal communication skills, particularly in presenting data and insights;
*Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
*Ability to thrive on business critical projects working across departmental lines;
*A passion for understanding, structuring and exploring data;
*An insatiable appetite for learning new skills and constantly improving existing ones;
*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Nice to have:
*Statistical data analysis techniques
*AWS experience, in particular Redshift or QuickSight
*Experience of similar OLAP tools (e.g. Tableau, Cognos)
*MS Excel skills
*Understanding of big data streaming/analysis challenges
*Relevant data analysis/data science qualifications
*Protecting and using your personal data
