Digital Marketing Executive | Surrey

Digital marketing executive is required to join the marketing department for our client that specialises in creating bespoke holidays .Our client build exceptional travel experiences with a fun, friendly, informed service.  The marketing team are  passionate about travel, always on the lookout for new ways to share this with the rest of the world.

The successful candidate will support the MM in the creation and implementation of the data-driven marketing strategy. The remit of this role will encompass activity across the full marketing spectrum with a focus on digital. The DME will be primarily responsible for building marketing emails, co-creating the social media strategy, updating and monitoring all social media channels, executing a content calendar and building the company’s Digital PR profile. The DME will work alongside a Marketing Executive who focuses on updating the website, liaising with the web developers and the Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the email marketing plan, including sourcing content and images, writing, building, testing, distributing all emails on a bi-weekly basis, analysing results and applying findings to drive enquiries
  • Implement (and keep updated) a monthly content calendar to drive both acquisition and retention
  • Liaise on a regular basis with staff across the business to source ideas for new marketing campaigns and website content
  • Outreach and build relationships with bloggers to increase awareness of the brand, understanding Google’s Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) requirements
  • Work with SEO agency on creative campaigns to generate brand awareness and links
  • Monitor and respond to journalist requests
  • Create a social media plan to include (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Proactively look at ways to improve interaction, grow our followers, stand out from our competitors and drive relevant traffic to the website
  • Assist MM with managing PPC and SEO agency relationships, implementing their recommendations
  • Liaise with external copywriter and manage their workload from us
  • Keep up to date with newsworthy topics from our travel destinations
  • Manage the company’s image library
  • Understand how to use a CMS to update the website
  • Compile monthly reports relating to email, social, PR, leads generated, conversion rate and ROI   

 Requirements:

  • A degree of at least 2:1 standard
  • Pro-active self-starter that works well in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent copy and creative writing skills, good standard of grammar
  • A minimum of 2 years digital marketing experience (travel industry preferred, not essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and someone who wants to be a key player in a growing business
  • Understanding of web analytics
  • Experience of email marketing, preferably Mail Chimp
  • Some knowledge of offline marketing is desirable but not essential
  • Good understanding of SEO and some PPC preferred
