Well established and respected Edinburgh based UK Inbound Tour Operator seeks a Director of Tour Operations to manage the team responsible for all group tour operations from overseas markets to the UK. This would suit a candidate with experience of operating group volume business to the UK – anything from students to leisure tour series, specialist tours and incentives.

As a senior member of the team you will report directly to the MD and liaise daily with other senior managers. 

A varied and busy role, responsibilities will include : 

-          Managing an operations team

-          Ensuring work loads and staff mentoring, training and development are managed

-          Ensure operational responsibility for all service delivery across the UK

-          Work closely with overseas based tour operators and travel agents

-          Participating in the senior management teams contribution of the overall company direction and strategy

-          Continuingly seek to develop and improve systems and processes across all operational areas

-          General staff management and associated administration

-          Attend major trade shows and workshops and other relevant events

-          Work closely with key tourism suppliers such a hotels, attractions, transport 

Director of Tour Operations must be able to demonstrate proven experience in : 

-          Working within UK group tour operations from the inbound market

-          Man management skills

-          Great knowledge of the UK as a destination

-          Proven organisational and administration skills

-          Fluency in English – a 2nd European language will be useful
