Email Marketing Executive - Oxford - up to £30k

The successful individual will be responsible for the UK email marketing, helping to build brand awareness and support SEO through increasing online PR, and looking at ways to distribute content, whether through Apps or content aggregators.

Email Marketing 

• Defining the email marketing strategy

• Full end to end campaign execution including planning, targeting, setup, testing, sending, reporting and optimisation

• Planning content for emails in consultation with wider digital and marketing team

• Writing content and sourcing photographs, as well as creating and editing images and graphics for use in emails

• Devising and executing testing schedule for emails in order to constantly maximise performance

• Creating segmentation criteria and mailing groups for our data.

• Plan strategy and execution of automated email system / event trigger / lifecycle driven emails

• Building emails using external email service provider and managing relationship with them

• Ensuring that emails adhere to relevant privacy policies and best practice.

• Continuous development of email template from both aesthetic and multi-device perspective

• Ensuring that email deliverability is maximised and that our email templates are fully tested in all mail readers

• Reporting back on performance of email marketing

• Working towards set objectives across open rate, click-through-rate and other performance indicators

• Looking at ways to grow email list

• Managing any third party email promotions or competitions to encourage opt-ins

Online PR

• Working closely with marketing communications manager and external PR consultant to identify online PR opportunities

• Researching the best platforms to use in conjunction with growing online PR

• Discerning which opportunities to respond to – both in terms of brand fit and authority

• Reporting back on performance and working to defined objectives

Content distribution

• Working with the marketing executive responsible for quarterly customer loyalty magazine to work out best format for digital version

• Investigating and keeping abreast of content aggregation options

Person Specification 

• Educated to graduate level or equivalent, ideally with a recognised marketing qualification

• Extensive experience of using email service provider (e.g. Adestra or Campaign Monitor)

• Highly competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint – with particular knowledge of using Excel for reporting

• Experience of using Photoshop and other programmes within the Adobe Suite

• Excellent all-rounder with proven email marketing experience

• Highly organised and ability to meet deadlines

• Excellent analytical, written and numerical skills

• Enthusiastic and self-motivated

• Meticulous attention to detail and logical thinker

• A flexible team player who contributes positively towards the team and its overall goals

• Excellent copywriting and subediting skills

• An interest in travel would be preferable
