Programme Manager - Family brand up to £40k - Hampshire

Programme Manager - Role

The Family Programme Manager is responsible for the overall success (growth, quality and costs) of the Family Adventures programme, ensuring that the product differentiates in the market, and that you plan, contract and operate industry-leading tours that deliver a 'customer experience to be proud of' to the core customer demographic.

Programme Manager - Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for, and ownership of the Family Adventure product including quality, customer experience and costs
  • Responsible for fulfilling the company aim to become the UK market leader in Family Adventures
  • Responsible for being (and being seen to be)the company expert/guru on all things Family Adventure
  • To be responsible for all product development and for ensuring it is based on the strategic aims of the business, and in line with the market-led product strategy briefs provided by the Business Intelligence (BI). Responsible for fulfilling the company aim to become the UK market leader in adventure travel-
  • Working with the partnerships manager to suggest and have required input on developing proactive commercial initiatives and 3rd party relationships to maximising sales and profitability
  • Responsible for ensuring that our sales staff are knowledgeable, motivated and enthusiastic about the Family product through coaching, mentoring and product training.
  • Ensuring clear differentiators are built into every aspect of the product offering
  • Liaising with the Flights team to secure flight and train requirements for the product
  • Responsible for minimising complaints to company targets
  • Developing a close and effective/proactive relationship with the Business Intelligence and Marketing teams to ensure marketing and distribution opportunities are maximised
  • Working closely with the BI team to create and implement a strategy for increasing revenue and market share for the product in line with company targets.
  • Ensuring we have the very best product in the market, contracted at the best rates, available for sale at any given time and reacting quickly to market conditions
  • Responsible for all Family product development and for ensuring it is in line with the strategic aims of the business, underpinned by a deep knowledge of the market & the competitive environment.
  • To ensure that accurate and inspiring written content, including brochure / web /customer mailings / marketing co-lateral is available for all tours.
  • Ensuring that the very best ground costs are achieved and that capacity and load factors are regularly and closely managed in consultation with BI.
  • Close liaison with other Programme Managers and Product Managers to ensure destination knowledge is shared effectively and that supplier relationships are managed efficiently.
  • Working closely with other Product & Programme Managers to ensure consistency of approach and best practice across all teams
  • Working with the Brochure Production Executive to ensure that brochure deadlines are fulfilled
  • Responsibility to ensure that we have the relevant Tailor Made product available for sale: this will involve working closely with the TM team.
  • Ensuring compliance with risk and health and safety requirements
  • Effective implementation of cross-group initiatives
  • Adhering to Responsible Tourism guidelines.
  • Driving product-based PR & other promotional activity to ensure that it is considered at all stages of the product cycle.
  • Authorisation of any discounted personal travel & ensuring that the best discounts are obtained for training, FAM and press trips.
  • To travel overseas and within the UK as and when required. This may include contracting trips, training trips, FAM trips, recce trips, as well as visits and attendance at various trade and consumer shows.
  • Regularly report on product and profit performance against team and company KPIs and targets.

Programme Manager - Personality

  • Your passion should be travel, they are looking for a candidate who exudes enthusiasm for Family Adventure travel and giving the very best service
  • The ideal candidate will be natural leader, who is both an independent thinker and a team player.
  • You should demonstrate a successful record of product development ideally within the Family Adventure market have demonstrable experience in working to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • It is essential that you will be able to build rapport and communicate effectively at all levels and show an ability to construct logical, credible and winning arguments that will persuade decision makers (internal and external).
  • You should be comfortable in taking responsibility to challenge current processes and participate in designing and delivering strategic growth.
  • It is important that the Family Programme Manager should be able to quickly and decisively react to changing market conditions to continually drive towards achieving and then exceeding company and personal targets.
