Fare Specialist & Commercial Support, Up to £38k, London

Our client is a travel consortium that provides support to travel organisations through out the UK. They are looking for a Fare Specialist and Commercial Support Executive to provide fares help desk support to agents in ticketing and complex routings as well as support in negotiating commercial agreements with suppliers.

The Responsibilities of the Fare Specialist and Commercial Support Exec are as follows:

  • Provide support to Commercial Manager in negotiation of supplier agreements
  • Manage collection of data from suppliers
  • Analyse data and provide reporting to maintain and enhance benefits to both members and suppliers
  • Process statistics and calculate payments to members
  • Maintain database and communication of payments to members
  • Manage relationships with suppliers specifically related to enhancing offerings and information channelled via the Focus Extranet
  • Manage billing to Focus Partners and Suppliers
  • Provide back-up for fare distribution and support
  • Represent Focus at industry events, partner and supplier meetings
  • Assist in the management of airline Value Added Programmes
  • Maintain membership documentation
  • First line support for general membership enquiries
  • Document processes
  • Perform ad-hoc duties determined by business requirements

The skills required for the Fare Specialist and Commercial Support Exec are as follows:

  • Highly organised and efficient individual with a keen eye for detail
  • Knowledge of GDS’- preferably all three major ones
  • Knowledge of Fare calculation / Fare distribution
  • Experience working through ticket based helpdesk
  • Experience of presenting in a virtual environment
  • An excellent communicator who knows how to motivate and get the very best out of people, make complex look simple – in either face-to-face or virtual environment, and articulate key messages to a diverse audience
  • Report Production
  • Microsoft Office Suite (in particular Excel)
