Finance Assistant - Travel Sector, London, Up to £25k.

Our client is an independent Travel organisation that handles high net worth clients in both Leisure and Business Travel. Based in lovely offices in Central London our travel client is looking for a Finance assistance to handle all areas of the finance functions including Account Receivables, Account Payables, Credit Control and Payroll.

The responsibilities of the Finance Assistant are as follows:

  • To assist the Financial Controller with ensuring the efficient and effective capture of costs and income and processing of financial transactions on behalf of the company.
  • Credit control - regularly review debtors and ensure credit control procedures are implemented; carry out credit checks on new clients.
  • Managing Petty cash – distributing cash and collecting receipts from staff as necessary. Maintain a monthly schedule for the Financial Controller
  • Banking – Download the daily bank statement; bank cheques and cash; daily printing of PDQ Transactions report
  • Posting sales receipts and purchase payments on Dolphin.
  • Processing all invoices, expense forms and requests for payment
  • Bank reconciliation's – ensure all Dolphin related transactions are posted on Dolphin
  • Produce weekly/fortnightly accounts export from Dolphin
  • Chase hotel commissions as necessary
  • Ensuring all accounts filing is up to date.
  • Weekly supplier statement reconciliation on Dolphin

The skills required for the Finance Assistant are as follows:-

  • Basic Accounting Skills in AR & AP
  • Travel Industry experience is a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of Dolphin and Sage 50 Accounting systems also an advantage
  • Numerate with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively and professionally with a wide range of people both internally and externally
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues; customers and external contacts
  • Team player
