We are looking to recruit a Flight Operations Executive with a positive attitude, who thrives on challenges and hard work to join a dynamic and commercially focused flights team in one of the most highly regarded independent travel companies in the UK.

We contract charter flights for both our summer beach resorts and winter ski operations from London and regional airports. All head office and overseas staff travel is managed by our Flight Operations Department. Reporting to the Flight Operations Manager you will assist with the effective day to day running of the department and communicate any changes to both staff and clients.

The successful candidate will have excellent multi-tasking skills and a desire to work in the travel industry.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to the Flight Operations timetable, provision of ticketing services, information to airlines and UK and overseas representatives.
  • Management and maintenance of the flight inventory on the reservation system.
  • Purchase of guest and staff seats, both charter and scheduled.
  • 24 hour Duty Office role on a rota basis.
  • Assist Flight Operations Manager and provide cover in their absence.
  • Issuing Charter flight etickets.
  • Responsible for day to day email and telephone queries internally and externally.
  • Selling of flight only seats where and when applicable.
  • Purchase of ad-hoc seats for staff/customers using internet or Amadeus GDS.
  • Initiating and implementing strategy utilising wider external flying to satisfy customer/commercial demands.
  • Implementing any changes to the flight programme on the reservation system and ensuring relevant departments and clients are advised.
  • Sending and submitting manifests to airlines, resorts and airports as required from the weekly timetable.
  • Producing airline performance reports based on flight reports received from UK and overseas airports.
  • Producing, distributing and maintaining a precise, accurate flight programme for each season.
  • Liaising and arranging with airlines for all customer flight requests.
  • Duty manager on a weekly rota basis.
  • Maintenance of all flight related information on the Mark Warner website.
  • Making all Head Office and Overseas staff travel arrangements within set budgetary constraints.
  • Assisting where required across the department to ensure successful operation.

Essential Requirements

  • GCSE educated, higher education or travel and tourism qualification
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Present a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Strong IT and excel skills
  • Occasional travel on overseas business trips
