Job Tittle: Flight operations Team leader/Manager

Location: Bromley

Salary: £30,000 +excellent benefits

We are currently recruiting for a Flight Operations Team leader/Manager for a leading long standing tour operator. They are looking for somebody with a previous background in sales team management from either a tour operator, travel agent, specialist travel company or a company of a similar nature. A strong GDS background and knowledge is essential.

Tasks and duties of the Flight Operations Team leader/Manager

  • Manage a team of 6 staff ensuring workloads are evenly spread across the team by planning resource efficiently and prioritising
  • Interview and assist in training new staff in the department as well as providing additional training for current staff when required
  • Monitor performance and develop staff ensuring regular one to ones and appraisals are conducted along with team meetings as required
  • Assist the team when required to ensure completion of daily and weekly tasks
  • Manage the process of rebooking of flights for any holiday changes ensuring the customer is provided with the best alternative
  • Ensure all queues in Amadeus are effectively managed ensuring any problems are dealt without affecting the customer’s experience
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring all tickets are issued accurately and according to their required deadlines
  • Track the management of ADMs ensuring costs are minimised and proactive steps are taken to prevent a re-occurrence

Skills and experience of required of the Flight Operations Team leader/Manager

  • People management experience
  • A solid understanding of airline contracts
  • An extensive understanding of a GDS (preferably Amadeus)
  • Able to issue airline tickets
  • Experience in managing ADM processes
  • An ability to manage and prioritise a high workload within tight deadlines
  • Imperative to show initiative and be a dynamic problem solver
  • Experience in training and the creation of supporting manuals and training documentation
