FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER - RESIDENTIAL CARE - UP TO 33,000 + CAR ALLOWANCE

Indigo Healthcare is proud to be working with a national residential and nursing care home provider and would like to speak to any experienced chefs who would be interested in overseeing their Food and Beverage Initiatives Programme.

Ideally looking for someone who has worked within the Care/Health Sector in a similar role, with multi-site management, Hospital/Care Sector experience and project management experience.

Job Description

1. To oversee the food initiatives programme working closely with key stakeholders.
2. To support and develop cooks/chefs in all aspects of their role.
3. To project manage, launch, monitor and evaluate all aspects of the food initiatives programme.
4. Develop and facilitate culinary presentations in line with the business strategy as identified by Line Manager.
5. To maintain up-to-date and accurate records of meetings and monitor Food Hygiene Ratings
6. Continually develop an understanding of care home and elderly culinary requirements and trends, changes in legislation, review and keep up to date Food Safety Management Policy.
7. Utilise appropriate resource effectively to develop and hone presentation skills.
8. Develop, enhance and maintain the recipe database and develop menu planning and cycles.
9. Deliver presentations to chefs/cooks coupled with training in menus/recipes to enable upskilling.
10. Oversee chefs/cooks are adhering to kitchen hygiene standards.
11. To support and improve the resident dining experience with a consistent approach across the group.
12. Support cooks/chefs in the delivery of resident taster sessions.
13. To be an active and encouraging Development Chef, establishing and maintaining effective means of communication and good relationships with Managers, employees and all others external professionals and outside suppliers.
14. Take the lead in developing culinary food programmes and fact sheets to include; a balanced nutritional diet, dementia, malnutrition, diabetes, fortification, dysphagia, allergies, elderly diseases and religious requirements.
15. To promote and develop food themed activities.
16. Kitchen management; stock control, management of food budgets, organisation of work space, managing of kitchen assistants
17. To be aware and adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.
18. To undertake other duties as may reasonably be required or as necessitated by changes in role and the overall business objectives of the company.

20. Ensure Orchard is viewed positively by all parties.
21. Role will include national mileage and nights away from home.

Ideally you will be/have;

Experienced and self-motivated chef.
Should have City & Guilds706 -1 and 706-2 or Level 3 NVQ as a minimum qualification
Passionate interest in the elderly care industry.
Recognised culinary qualifications/relevant industry experience.
Proven ability to deliver demonstrations and presentations.
A broad knowledge of the food services industry.
Level 4 Managing Food Safety
Good analytical and written communication skills.
Self-motivator with a can do attitude.
Have a caring disposition.
Reliable and punctual.
To maintain confidentiality.
Must hold a UK driving licence
Comfortable in working at different venues on a weekly basis.
