Opened in 2010, visitors to the highly recognisable pastel pink Parlour in London's Belgravia sample from Peggy Porschen's latest collection of freshly baked cupcakes, cookies and layer cakes. With a focus on quality ingredients, traditional baking methods and creative flavours, it's no surprise that the bustling Parlour, with its award-winning creations, has become a destination for cake lovers.

Guests can take a seat in, or outside, the Parlour and relax in its fairy tale surroundings while soaking up the atmosphere, on the well positioned corner of Elizabeth and Ebury Street. For baking enthusiasts, the Parlour stocks an exclusive collection of baking accessories and equipment deSigned by Peggy herself.



PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

As the Parlour Front of House Manager you are a key representative of the Peggy Porschen brand and a role model for your team. You must be impeccably presented with excellent communication skills and enjoy engaging with customers and colleagues. You have strong leadership skills whilst maintaining a friendly, approachable and confident personality. You take great pride in motivating your team and making each customer feel special. You are enthusiastic about selling cakes and display a courteous, professional work manner at all times. You have excellent planning, time management and organisational skills and perform well under pressure and during rush hours.



THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Front of House manager will work in collaboration with the kitchen and sales team, to ensure the quantity, quality and flow of production to deliver a consistently excellent standard of product presentation and customer service. He/she will be primarily responsible on site for health and safety and food hygiene standards; and provide as well as monitor all relevant staff training. The FOH Manager will plan to ensure that agreed sales targets and production schedules will be met.

The FOH Manager will provide strong leadership and to motivate the Parlour team to achieve Peggy Porschen aims and objectives and lead by example to staff in respect of Peggy Porschen standards of professionalism, conduct and efficiency. He/she will ensure the image of Peggy Porschen is positively projected at all times.



MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


To communicate effectively to the PP Parlour team and to supervise that they work efficiently and in compliance with Peggy Porschen's policies and procedures.
To plan the parlour's day to day activities, to meet or exceed its targets for production, sales and profit, including control of costs and minimising wastage.
Working closely with the Head of Kitchen, to manage and control stock levels of products within the shop, through appropriate planning and ordering.
To manage stock levels of packaging and sundries required for the day to day business in the Parlour.
Working closely with the Sales Team, to ensure and manage a smooth delivery & collection procedure of cake orders.
To hold daily staff briefings in order to ensure that team members are informed about all necessary company information, such as product updates, promotional offers, deliveries and collections, and any other matters relevant for the daily flow in the Parlour.
To ensure that the presentation of the front of house area is immaculate and attractive, with tables cleared at frequent intervals throughout the day.
To lead by example in providing a consistently excellent standard of customer service at all times. To greet customers with a smile and to engage with them, providing accurate information about the choice of products on sale that day. To offer suggestions, if the customer asks, and to sell and upsell to meet or exceed the parlour's sales target.
To set up the shop each day, working with colleagues to stock the counter, ensuring that the products are displayed attractively, are decorated to company standard and in accordance with Peggy Porschen policy and procedure.
To regularly provide and monitor staff training in respect of product knowledge, customer service procedures, health & safety as well as company rules & regulations in order to maintain Peggy Porschen's standards.
To monitor, appraise and ensure each team member's work performance and conduct, and to report any issues to the managing director.
To assume responsibility for the till, to supervise and monitor staff in accordance with Peggy Porschen's till operating procedures.
Cashing up at the end of each day
Weekly stock taking and reporting the results to the Managing Director.
To assist customers with special cake orders if and when required.
To ensure staff uniforms and personal presentation are immaculate and maintained according to the company's rules and regulations at all times.
To serve customers with cakes, drinks and take away ordering.
To acknowledge any customer complaints and refer them to the Managing Director.
To undertake any other reasonable duty as required by the Company.




PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


At least 2 years management and customer service experience in the hospitality, leisure, luxury retail
A hospitality management degree will be of advantage but is not essential if a proven track record can be provided
Good basic knowledge about cakes, patisserie, teas and coffees
Fluent English skills, verbally and in writing
References to be provided on request
Valid full-time UK work visa for at least 2 years
