PROFILE GENERAL MANAGER REQUIRED - QUALITY FOOD LED PUB - WELL RESPECTED FOOD-LED PUB GROUP - 20K PER WEEK SITE - 35,000 BASIC SALARY + VERY ATTRACTIVE BONUS PACKAGE DESCRIPTION We are working with one of the UK's leading Food-Led pub groups who are recognised in the industry as a market leader in their field and an award winning employer. The company currently have over 15 venues in their portfolio, spread around the Midlands and the Home Counties. This particular venue, based near Hemel Hampstead, is looking to recruit a General Manager for this 20k per week site with a 60% food trade, who has a track record of improving operating performance and is able to market and develop the venue to the local community. Your role will focus around: Developing the relationships with local businesses and the community, returning the pub to being the focal point of the areaEngage the team of 15 staff, focussing them on service delivery and introducing professional performance standardsWork closely with the Head Chef ensuring the front of house team are fully aware of all daily dishesImplement a marketing plan and strategy that will lead to the long-term development and evolution of the pubControl costs and budgets, working closely with the senior management to deliver accurate financial results The local area has undergone quite a transformation in the past few years leading to an increase in competition in the area. As General Manager you will need to assess your competition and introduce measures to retain and grow your customer base. We are therefore looking at someone who: Has managed a pub venue that generates in excess of 20,000 per weekHas an excellent knowledge of food and drink, able to match and promote products in line with the guests needsCan motivate, encourage and deliver training to their team membersHas a track record at networking and generating an increase in tradeIs able to be the host and figurehead of the venue Above all else, we want someone who will control and maintain professional standards. The venue has a fantastic team both front and back of house but lack leadership and direction.
