Travel Industry – Graduate Purchasing Consultant – Up to £19k DOE

 

A leading Travel company are looking for a Graduate Purchasing Consultant to join its vibrant travel team working from their luxurious and well appointed offices.  As Graduate Purchasing Consultant you will working with clients throughout Europe, and be playing a key role in the delivery of commercial terms for travel product for your clients, in a company that prides itself in the diverse product role that they offer.

 

As Graduate Purchasing Consultant you will:

 

  • Contracting and purchasing product (round tours, ad hoc groups, key account enquiries and tour series) within budget
  • Checking whether necessary information is provided by Product Team
  • Maximising usage of pre-booked space by checking whether allocations and bed banks can be used
  • Researching new and additional products
  • Negotiating rates and terms and conditions
  • Sending internal offers to the Product Team within agreed turnaround time
  • Building relationships with suppliers to enable you to negotiate the best possible rates
  • Ensuring that the company’s database is constantly updated
  • Checking clients’ itinerary to ensure the correct locations/hotels are being placed
  • Working closely with the Operation Consultants to ensure that clients’ needs/requests are followed
  • Keep Operations Department up to date on placement as well as on difficult dates/challenges
  • Checking possible use of bed banks
  • Supporting and liaising with the Reservation Manager to ensure the team objectives are met
  • Following up all supplier contracts by making sure that the paperwork is correct
  • Being in constant contact with suppliers all over the UK and Ireland
  • Finding creative solutions for difficult locations and busy dates

 

The successful Graduate Purchasing Consultant will be friendly, confident and outgoing personality with a positive attitude, who is well organised and able to work to tight deadlines with excellent English skills, both written and spoken.  As Graduate Purchasing Consultant you will have a passion for travel, be a team player and ideally some experience in group travel.  This is an ideal opportunity to enter the exciting world of travel and product and contracting.
