The Company

An expanding business that manufactures quality foods sold to numerous retailers and other outlets.

The Role

A vacancy has arisen for the position of Quality Assurance Assistant with a Food related Degree/HND to join the business on a temporary basis and gain relevant food industry experience during a period of 4 - 6 weeks.

Based within the Quality department, the Food Graduate appointed will undertake various Quality checks including: sampling, taste tests, temperature probe analysis, raw materials testing, finished products testing, updating quality records, routine quality checks on production lines, and monitoring adherence to quality processes and practices.

The Graduate QA Assistant will ensure products are being produced in line with customer specifications, monitor and record food safety and quality checks around the production plant, test and calibrate weighing systems to ensure the products being produced at the correct weight and ensure all other legal standards are being met.

As the appointed candidate will be dealing with different people and different departments, confidence and great communication skills are essential. An organised and meticulous approach to record keeping is also required.

The Person

We are keen to hear from an individual with a Degree/HNC/HND in a Food related discipline, who is keen to gain some practical experience within a busy Food Manufacturing environment. Applicants should fall under the category of quick learner, and be someone who retains information and is keen to learn.

Although a temporary role for a period of 4 to 6 weeks (starting immediately), for an individual who applies themselves, there may be further opportunities within the business as they continue to grow and add to their expanding workforce.

High levels of motivation, enthusiasm and the ability to work as part of a small team are key. This role will be Monday to Friday although some flexibility in hours may be required. Ref 1814
