A leading luxury tour operator is looking for a Graduate Reservations Travel Consultant to sell specialist tours directly to the public and via travel agents and act as the first point of contact. As Graduate Reservations Travel Consultant you will answer initial booking enquiries and ensure the outcome of the call results in a sale and deliver a high standard of customer service, ensuring that the client feels that all their queries have been resolved to their satisfaction. The Graduate Reservations Travel Consultant must seek to gain product knowledge by attending product talks, collating information through reading all relevant marketing materials and accessing information sources (i.e. using the intranet, website, reading brochures, newspaper and magazine advertisements, hotel /ship information), helping you to cross sell other products. The Graduate Reservations Travel Consultant will use the in-house reservations system to check availability and make bookings, or if the tour is on a request basis, passing all relevant details about the enquiry to the Travel Consultant overseeing that particular tour, as well as ensuring that any special requests (i.e., dietary, wheelchair assistance etc.) are properly attended to, all appropriate advice is given. You will answer queries for existing bookings, process amendments where necessary and resolve any issues where possible while liaising with reservations management and customer relations, and support the department with reservations administration to ensure deadlines are met and service levels remain high. The successful Graduate Travel Reservations Consultant will preferably be degree educated, with some travel industry exposure, with experience in a over the phone environment dealing with the public. You will have a superb, patient and professional telephone manner, be able to maintain a large client database, and have the ability to close a sale, being enthusiastic reliable, and self-motivated team player.
