Graduate Travel Consultant – Culture & History – up to £24k (OTE £26-27k)– South London

 

Graduate Travel Consultant will be responsible for putting together travel for UK based Primary, Secondary and University students.  A key part of the Graduate Travel Consultant role is to increase new business and manage existing accounts. As Graduate Travel Consultant you will liaise with teachers and lecturers as well as accommodation suppliers; flight, rail and coach operators, visitor attractions and overseas agents to create thoughtful, engaging and dynamic cultural and historical study travel.

 

As Graduate Travel Consultant you will: 

  • Generate new travel business for the Tours Department, mainly through telephone sales
  • Meet and exceed personal and team travel sales targets
  • Liaising closely with school teachers and university lecturers and tailoring an educational travel packages
  • Deal with clients via telephone, e-mail and correspondence
  • Calculating and providing accurate travel quotations and ensuring that documentation is sent promptly
  • Work closely with suppliers and the Operations Dept regarding transport, accommodation and visits
  • Ensure accurate data capture and entry into our system
  • Clear commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Ability and desire to gain product knowledge and communicate this effectively to clients
  • Awareness of the student tours market and our current marketing activity 
  • Familiarisation visits in the UK and Abroad

 

The successful Graduate Travel Consultant will be a high calibre graduate with a passion for history, people, places and culture, with a genuine interest in the world around us.  The Graduate Travel Consultant will have the ability to achieve sales targets and meet deadlines.  The Graduate Travel Consultant will also be able to work as part of a team and on their own initiative and be motivated and a quick learner

 

Useful additional skills:

  • An interest in arts, culture, history, people and places
  • Travel and geographical knowledge
  • Knowledge of French, German and/or Spanish language
  • Teaching experience in an UK school

 

Working hours 

09.00 until 17.30 Monday to Friday.
