We are looking for a Head Waiter to join our clients luxury hotel and ensure all guests receive quality service. You will assist the management team in ensuring the smooth running of the restaurant and lead the waiting staff whilst on their shift. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced multi-skilled hotel professional to join their highly professional team at a senior level in their 3 AA rosette restaurant.
Responsibilities: . Staff (Allocate workloads, supervise their work, train and develop to an agreed standard, organization if staff are late/ill and report) . Ensure that customer complaints are dealt with correctly and communicated to the Manager . Communicate with the Chef, to check availability and explanation of the all dishes for daily briefings . Monitor breakages and take charge of weekly/monthly china/cutlery stocks . Have a good knowledge of the Island and the history of the hotel . Check diary and function sheet folder regularly . Ensure menus are clean, up to date and inform staff of any menu changes . Check crockery and cutlery for cleanliness . Ensure Restaurant is left ready for the next shift . Ensure cellar is clean and closed after every shift . Ensure a good up to date knowledge of menu/wine list/bar list/cheese trolley
Health & Safety: . Ensure the general security of the premises . Ensure all Fire and Health & Safety policies are respected . Communicate any lapses in current Health & Safety policies

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a waiter in a 4/5 star hotel and previous experience supervising a team; attention to detail and high standards; good communication skills; excellent presentation; flexible and eager to learn; and able to work calmly under pressure with the ability to supervise and train a team. Candidates must have a strong level of English and will preferably be able to start immediately.
