Hotel General Manager The Role An experienced Hotel General Manager who will report to the Regional Managing Director. The role will be based in the Central London. The General Manager will have full accountability for the people, product and profit within the Hotel. Key focus of the role is to ensure excellence in customer service, maximise profits and exploit opportunities for growth within the business through inspirational leadership, sound commercial acumen and a proven track record in Hotel Management. Responsibilities will include: Demonstrating a proactive approach to sales and marketing ensuring the hotel is positioned appropriately within the market place, supported by a strategic sales plan to ensure market penetration and maximum exposure is generated in all target markets.Being a catalyst for inspiring the cultural changes required to support the Hotel product repositioning, ensuring operational service standards are second to none and that guests experience exceptional levels of genuine care.Proactively analysing and exploiting the commercial and financial opportunities of the Hotel in terms of costs, controls, productivity levels, competitor activity, room rate revenue, product and property development.Involvement in activities within the local community aimed at enhancing competitive advantage and increasing Hotel profitability through local networking.Attracting, coaching and developing a high performing team within the Hotel who take ownership for the achievement of the business objectives within the Hotel.Leading, developing and empowering employees to deliver operational best practice, identifying opportunities and making recommendations for improving efficiently and quality of service. The Candidate A visionary and charismatic leader with a passion for excellence and a reputation for delivering the highest guest experience possible.Previous Hotel Manager experience in high quality hotel operation 4/5*.An excellent understanding of revenue management of bedrooms, conference & meetings and food and beverage.Strong and inspirational leadership to motivate, develop and build talent internally to contribute to the overall success of the business.Ability to work across multiple projects, whilst managing all aspects of the day to day hotel operation.Experience of successfully developing the conference and social event markets to generate revenue.Financially astute, with excellent commercial acumen.Ability to build and develop excellent relationships with the local business community to generate new and repeat business.Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships at all levels - internally and externally
