This is an exciting opportunity to join a large privately owned business who specialise within the Food Service industry, with multiple business units across the UK supporting various category specific clients they are looking to professionalise their approach to Health and Safety. This new role as HSE Manager will be a central function and you will lead and consult the operations management team in HSE best practise. As the Groups HSE Manager you will be responsible for managing Health & Safety processes and ensuring compliance within the company. This will include developing and documenting Health & Safety systems and ensuring adherence at all sites through hands-on auditing. You will have responsibility for the company's Quality & Environmental Systems, controlling, documenting and updating the policies and procedures. You will be expected to manage the internal and external audit plans and operate as a central resource/support function to the Unit Operations Managers. This is a senior role within the business and will hold a prominent position with an unencumbered reporting line into the Senior Leadership Team from our HQ in Warwickshire.

Main Responsibilities of the HSE Manager:

* Manage, implement and execute protocols and procedures to support excellence across all Health & Safety disciplines.
* Main stakeholder for external H&S stakeholders including Environmental Health Officers, External H&S consultants and ISO9001/14001 auditors
* Manager EHO processes where corrective actions are required
* Conduct Health & Safety auditing activities across the estate
* Develop H&S audit scoring and report findings back to management on a regular basis
* Responsibility for documenting and updating Quality & Environmental Systems and Policies
* Manage the company's Corporate & Social Responsibilities Policy
* Management of safety systems and equipment
* Prepare and deliver Health & Safety Training to the Operations Team

What we are looking for from our new role as HSE Manager

* NEBOSH National General Certificate (or Higher)
* An advanced Food Safety Qualification
* Experience of working in a multi-site food business
* Experience in managing and auditing ISO9001 & 14001 systems
* Able to plan their own time effectively
* Ability and confidence to challenge current ways of working
* Deadline driven
* Must be able to drive and willing to travel within England & Wales
