World-leading student and youth travel company STA Travel is seeking a confident, creative and solutions-driven communications professional to coordinate the internal communications program in the UK.

What you're accountable for:

  • To drive the UK communications strategy and create an understanding and affiliation of our company vision, values, strategic pillars and broader business strategy.
  • To develop quality, accurate and timely internal communications.
  • To support the global Head of Internal Communications cascade corporate announcements and information.
  • To write and deliver communication campaigns for various business stakeholders across UK.
  • To manage multiple communication channels, and champion engagement on STA Travel’s social media channel Yammer. 
  • To act as an internal brand ambassador and implement a ‘champions’ programme to gather feedback and propel our vision and values.  
  • To advise senior leaders about high-profile communications initiatives.
  • To coordinate a number of large and smaller scale events.
  • To support the internal implementation of our Responsible Travel programme, liaising with the global Head of Internal Communications with particular emphasis on fundraising activities for our teen cancer charity partner, Teenage Cancer Trust.
  • To build engagement and uphold morale and pride in the business with events, reward and recognition.
  • To fulfil other responsibilities as directed by the global Head of Internal Communications.


Key skills and competencies:

  • Excellent communicator with plenty of self-initiative, and ability to inspire.
  • Superior proof-reading and editing skills. 
  • Skilled listener with ability to simplify complex ideas quickly.
  •  Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Passionate about the role communicators can play in the development of a successful business.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to manage complex relationships.
  • Confident presenter.
  • Work with discretion and act as a trusted advisor to leaders and influence at a senior level.
  • Approachable, dependable and flexible. 
  • Experience with digital communications channels (e.g. Intranet, social enterprise network), photography and video filming/editing highly attractive.
  • Office 365 and Yammer experience desirable. 
  • Travel industry and Events experience desirable.
