Position: Italian Speaking Product Manager

Location: Hampshire

Salary: Negotiable

This position reports directly to the Commercial Manager. The Product Manager has, in line with company objectives and targets, responsibility for the product, from concept, contracting, set-up, organisation, management and its ultimate growth potential and profitability.

Responsibilities:

Product Planning

  • Organise and co-ordinate regular (or as required) competitor analysis relating to Brochure and web pricing, Special offers, Add-ons, Product content, New developments, Planning and developing existing products being constantly aware of Accommodation Product and who it is targeted to, Competitor programmes and activities, General market trends and developments relative to the product and USPs
  • Agree contracting schedule to ensure contracts are agreed, signed and received in a timely manner in order that the launch timetable can be adhered to.
  • Liaising with key accommodation suppliers, procure and agree commercial terms that are the most competitive possible in order to deliver optimum product performance.
  • Ensure that all contractual documentation is accurate and in line with company requirements.
  • With the assistance of the local Resort team source new properties and ensure that contacts and / or terms are agreed and followed through on to ensure that properties meeting the product criteria are not lost.
  • Where possible and as appropriate contract any appropriate ancillary elements (eg excursions, tours etc) to enhance the product which are required for promotion and sale in the UK
  • Translate contracts and PIF's into accurate descriptions for inclusion in: brochure, websites, intranet and all publicity material
  • Communicate with suppliers where required to ensure that all descriptions used for publication are factually correct
  • Brochure Production and Website Maintenance
  • Be responsible for all aspects of brochure pricing
  • Agree a timetable for product launch and production of the brochure
  • Ensure that the agreed timetable and deadlines are met
  • Ensure content is accurate and updated in conjunction with the brochure launch schedule
  • System accuracy and preparing product to go on sale
  • Establish parameters for initial product set-up to ensure targeted load-factors are achieved
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure the Sales departments are fully aware and understand product specifics to enable them to sell effectively
  • Act as day-to-day support for the sales team and all internal departments on all product related issues
  • Monitoring performance against agreed sales targets
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase allocations to maximise profitability
  • Initiate promotions for specific product areas and drive marketing initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with hoteliers, suppliers and Tourist Boards

Minimum skills required:

  • Fluent in Italian (both written and spoken)
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience within Product Executive role or 2 years in Product Manager role
  • Analytical and logical thinking
  • 'Can do' attitude and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to drive and influence others
  • Excellent communicator
  • Be a motivated and enthusiastic individual who can show initiative and anticipate potential problems
  • Ability to work both unassisted and as a team player
  • Be computer literate and be able to work in all Microsoft Office applications
