Our client is a successful and well known travel company based in Surrey and they are seeking an Italian Speaking Regional Operations Manager.
This role is a key position in the iDMC team (Internal Destination Management Company) which is responsible for the directly operated products in western Europe. This range of products currently includes walking, cycling and winter products for both our brands operated as guided groups or self-guided trips. Key destination countries include Italy, France, Spain and Austria.
Our Regional Operations Managers are responsible for day to day operations within their regions. This involves, building and managing relationships with suppliers, negotiating rates and contracting, ensuring quality of services to set costs, product planning and day to day problem solving.
As a Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for…
*Managing supplier relationships throughout the contracting and operational periods
*Providing direct assistance to Headwater sales to fulfil individual customer booking requests with suppliers
*Delivering on agreed Health and Safety requirements for all services provided and for each brand
*Maintaining a tight control on quality management to deliver to and above each brand's expectations
*Providing detailed feedback to the customer services team on complaints received, and ensuring necessary changes and follow-up
*Researching and development for new or improved products, routes, activities and suppliers
*Negotiating and contracting on rates, dates and sales processes with all suppliers (primarily accommodation)
*Quoting accurate and detailed tour costs to allow the costings process to take place efficiently
*Providing a feed of trip note changes and updates in a well written format
*Approving leader and rep expenses
*Bike fleet management requirements for the region as needed
*Vehicle management, legal and logistics requirements for the region as needed
*Fluent spoken and written Italian
*First class relationship management and communication skills - to create good working relationships with suppliers and overseas staff
*Experience of contracting with suppliers (hotels or DMCs)
*A good appreciation for the operational requirements of a business
*Strong organisational and planning skills.
*Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
*Direct personal experience or a good understanding of adventurous or active travel
*Good geographical knowledge of Italy and other Western European countries
My client is offering a competitive salary package from £25,000 to £30,000 dependent on experience.
