My client, a successful Clinical Trials company are looking to recruit a Meal Co-Ordinator to work in their canteen. Duties will include: Assist in the basic preparation of food and serving beverages to the standard trained and defined within the site specification and to the standard operating procedures.Serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in line with rotas set out to volunteers on studies and record all details on daily log sheetsEnsure daily knowledge of the study specific food to be served, accompaniments and portion sizesEnsure meal requirements are accurate in line with the study menuCarry out general cleaning of the canteen and kitchen areas as specified by management and head chef.Assist in the ordering and monthly stock take procedures as requestedTo service and clean all coffee machines around site as per the scheduleTo set up and prepare function rooms on request and deliver refreshments to meeting roomsAssist in breakfast and lunch service or other areas outside of the volunteer's dining room, taking and accounting for cash as required or recording if it is client issuesTo perform any other duties which may reasonably requested by managementTo ensure that you are aware of, and meet the legal and Company requirements for fire, safety, health and food hygieneTo report Health and Safety issues to your managerTo report all accidents and near misses to the resource management representative and ensure appropriate records are made by completing the required paperworkPromote good health and food safety habits and methods of workTo report any defects with equipment and be aware of service level requirementsTo ensure all equipment and store cupboards are kept clean and locked when not in useTo ensure all appropriate signs are provided and used within the various areas if applicableTo ensure that all protective equipment is used correctly as specified by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Food Safety Regulations 1990To ensure appropriate use of stock and wastage controls to ensure stock wastage and loss is minimisedMonitoring food safety to reduce the risk of bacterial multiplication and food poisoning The ideal candidate will: Have a smart and clean appearanceBe knowledgeable about all areas of their job (following training!) and interested in the volunteers and other contractors on siteAlways attempt to improve on existing standards of workWork as part of a team and be prepared to assist colleagues when and where necessaryAccept ownership and responsibilityAttend appropriate training and to update skills and knowledgeCommunicate and actively participate in all contract activities including meetingsHave an optimistic attitude in order to make a positive differenceBe energetic and passionate Knowledge and Skills required: Knowledge or experience of cleaning in a similar industry is desirable, but not essentialCapable of problem solvingGood communication skillsExcellent time keepingA good eye for detailAccuracyStrongly customer focused Working hours 5 out of 7 each week, including weekends, shifts 8am-4pm and 3.30pm-11pm.
