Due to continued success and growth, our client have a number of great full time opportunities to join the Kitchens Department in the role of Kitchen Porter. Training and development will be provided.What will I be responsible for?Kitchen Porters are responsible for assisting chefs and cooks in the kitchens with a range of duties, from cleaning dishes, glassware and cutlery to preparing basic food ingredients for the Company's restaurants and dining facilities (training needed for food preparation). They also assist with stock storage, deliveries and yard maintenance amongst other duties. Typical duties include:- Operating dish, glassware and cutlery cleaning machines- Operating other kitchen machines- Cleaning all ancillary and non-food contact surfaces- Cleaning of appliances, utensils and all food contact surfaces- Assisting in stock storage, deliveries and yard maintenance- Assisting kitchen driver/storeman when necessary with internal deliveries- Completing Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety (mandatory)- Washing and preparing basic food ingredients (after achievement of Level 2)- Assisting Chefs and Cooks in preparing starters, desserts and buffet presentation (after achievement of Level 2)Who are we looking for?Their ideal Kitchen Porter would be someone with some experience of working in a commercial kitchen and would have a basic knowledge of food hygiene & safety as well as food preparation (thought training will be provided if they do not). They need to be aware of the physical nature of the role and, with training, be confident with the manual lifting elements of it. They should have a good level of spoken English and be willing and able to work as part of a team.Rewards & HoursWorking 37.5hrs a week to rota, a Kitchen Porter can expect to receive a competitive starting salary of 270 per week (over 25yrs).
