Leisure Travel Consultant - Up To £28k

Our client are a bespoke travel management company offering premium holidays with a difference and fully managed business travel solutions. Specialising within the Sports and VIP sector they are looking for a customer focused Leisure travel consultant who has a passion for delivering high quality service to provide the first point of contact for leisure clients and ensure client travel needs are fully met to their satisfaction in a timely and effective manner

The Requirements of the Leisure Travel Consultant are as follows:

  • Prepare tailormade bespoke travel itineraries for leisure and high end clients
  • Liaise with clients to gain approval for the travel package
  • Book appropriated flights and hotels in line with agreed itinerary and client requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the variety of travel options available to the client
  • Ensure prompt pro-active communication with clients at all stages of the project
  • Book and facilitate all aspects of the client’s travel, such as transfers, car hire etc.
  • Up-sell softly added value items, such as airport transfers, VIP airport services, extra nights’ accommodation, car hire etc.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to promote leisure travel services
  • Support the Head of Business development with complex high end bookings
  • Issue-reissue tickets
  • Ensure CRM is kept up to date
  • Ensure that invoices are raised in a timely manner using the Dolphin software system
  • Undertake regular training to ensure comprehensive knowledge of Amadeus and other appropriate software

Knowledge and skills required for the Leisure Travel Consultant role:

  • Previous experience of working in the leisure travel industry as a booker
  • Good IT skills with the ability to quickly learn new software
  • Knowledge of specialised travel related IT systems e.g. Amadeus
  • Experience of using CRM systems
  • First class customer service skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Product knowledge
  • Ability to successfully manage a high-volume workload in a professional and calm manner
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Good commercial negotiating skills and understanding of rates and mark up
  • Excellent team working skills
