Night Manager - Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes Are you passionate about Service? Do you enjoy pleasing people? Are you customer focused? Your Role Reporting to the Front Office Manager, as Night Manager you will have full responsibility of the hotel at nights, ensuring all guests are satisfied and well looked after, both internal and external. As Night Manager you will possess a working knowledge of all operational departments, and will monitor, review and improve departmental standards on a continual basis. You will ensure smooth running of the hotel operations, being the direct point of contact for guests and staff during your shifts. You will be confident to direct and make decisions or changes to ensure seamless guest service and safety at all times. As Night Manager you must demonstrate a proven track record in achieving and exceeding departmental goals and objectives, driving revenue and leading the team. You will be responsible to ensure all work is carried out in line with the hotel's guidelines and Park Plaza corporate guidelines and service concepts. Some of the duties for this role would include: Record any activities of interest or problems arising in the Management Diary.Ensure wake-up calls are made promptly.Regularly review room availability.Record all guaranteed non-arrivals and submit a copy to the Front Office Manager.Run a credit check report and thoroughly scrutinise for any increase in credit required.Complete and distribute all relevant forms in case of an accident or theft, liaising with the Duty Manager.Check all credit card postings with interface transfers on a daily basis.Check all guest country codes, special codes, promotions, room rates and routing instructions are entered correctly.Authorise and sign paid-outs, vouchers and rebates issued by reception.Perform night audit duties as required by Policy and Procedures.Deal with all incoming faxes and inquiries after office hours.Check on a daily basis the arrivals and departure reports, and VIP report.Ensure guest privacy and security, respecting confidential information.To be fully conversant with all front office departmental procedures.Ensure optimum occupancy and average rate for the purpose of maximising revenues.Prepare and submit statistical information and issue performance and forecast reports as necessary.Monitor front desk activities with regards to rebates, billing instructions, discounted rates in compliance with hotel policy.Analyse rate variance report to ensure correct room rates and revenue control.Monitor credit check report for possible doubtful accounts.Monitor and identify training needs within the front office department (night team).Ensure/develop formal training plans for the front office department (night team) to meet identified needs. You Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience within Front Office in four / five star environment in London, with a strong work ethics, track record of leading the team and acute financial awareness. We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented and result driven individual, able to make sound business decisions. You will have experienced a fast paced and rapidly changing environment and have the ability to respond quickly to changing market conditions and lead the team in unexpected situations. In addition, the role incumbent easily connects with others and has considerable experience working in a multicultural organisation. Ideal candidate will have previous experience in Opera and Micros.
