Operations & Product Manager – North London – Up to £27k

 

Operations & Product Manager is required by a leading adventure travel tour operator, where you will be responsible for over forty group departures to South East Asia and the Far East.  As Operations & Product Manager you will be chiefly responsible for ensuring the safe running and risk management of tours, as well as the continual product development and maintaining of quality standards.

 

As Operations & Product Manager you will be:

  • Travelling to lead groups, conduct safety inspections and recce new routes - Reviewing and updating all safety documentation for your challenge portfolio.
  • Booking new departure dates in cooperation with the sales/flights teams
  • Monitoring participant numbers and ensuring/monitoring profitability
  • Liaising with ground handlers to ensure all operational details are correct
  • Managing the ground handlers and negotiating rates.
  • Dealing with queries from clients
  • Effectively handling emergencies / crises (on call duty including evenings and weekends on a rota basis)
  • Gathering feedback (from clients, medics and challenge leaders) and conducting debriefs in order to continually improve safety and quality
  • Assisting with the marketing of your region

 

The successful Operations & Product Manager will have relevant group/charity tour operation and adventure travel experience, with a sound knowledge of principles of safety and risk management.   You will ideally have experience of leading adventure travel groups and working in remote destinations, particularly South East Asia or the Far East.  As Operations and Product Manager you will be a self-starter who can manage time efficiently, is not fazed by balancing a workload of wide-ranging tasks and able to maintain excellent attention to detail at all times.

 

As Operations & Product Manager you will be:

  • Working in a small, friendly business in North London, full of people with passion for what they are doing. It is a lively and busy environment where you have the chance to do something special
  • Experiencing the adventure travel and/or conducting inspection trips, so may include some international travel as dictated by the needs of the business
  • Salary is from £24-27k depending on experience
  • Mon-Fri 0900-1730hrs
  • 24 days’ holiday a year, and one extra day each year up to a maximum of 27 days after three years’ continuous service
