One of the UKs biggest travel companies are looking for a Regional Manager to join their vibrant and enthusiastic overseas travel team in the Algarve, Portugal. They are currently looking to find someone who can deliver travel industry leading service and maintain quality systems while maximising their presence in overseas resorts for Brits abroad.

 

As a Regional Manager Overseas, what will you be doing?

  • To deliver the strategy, planning and delivery process for own resources and third party to cover performance, forecasting and utilisation of people, product delivery, supplier quality, equipment and logistics to hit all company targets and deliver industry leading service
  • Responsible for driving the resort teams to deliver the Customer Service Promise within the constraints of the operational budget
  • To input into resource forecasting, planning, and adherence while achieving operational flexibility and agility to respond to operational and environmental impacts and influences
  • Deliver industry leading service, ensuring efficient and effective processes throughout the whole holiday experience and maximise customer facing time and availability of reps in hotels
  • Deliver seamless and effective seasonal ramp up and start up to ensure no compromise on Product delivery during season start up and close down
  • Lead a team that are consistently striving to exceed expectations with consistent performance management, setting KPIs, measuring and managing all aspects of performance, identifying individual and team training requirements and oversee training to continually develop the team
  • Role model leadership framework to develop and build high performing teams by utilising strong coaching capability and effective succession planning
  • Develop and retain the best team of local experts who work as one team, always present, taking responsibility and creating memories for all travel customers
  • Provide regular updates to the business to the highest level on changes to the department and developments ensuring all teams are aware of priorities, targets and strategic relationships
  • Own the product quality in resort, managing improvements with local suppliers whilst escalating concerns to all other key stakeholders
  • Display awareness of health and safety functions and follow due diligence escalation when required
  • Identify, create and develop excellent relationships both internally and externally and seek out operational and service delivery improvements and develop new concepts
  • Maintain quality systems for people, hotel, agency and transport suppliers to facilitate seasonal start-up and sustainability

 What do they expect from you?

  • A proven track record in a similar manager role with travel tour operator operational experience
  • Experience in strategic planning to deliver ambitious company targets
  • Excellent people management skill with a history of delivering high team performance is essential
  • Ability to manage and develop remote teams
  • Champion of travel industry leading customer service
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint with experience in using pivot tables, formulas and formatting to build basic MI 
  • A Knowledge of Mediterranean resorts
  • A 2nd language is desirable but not essential
