The Role
With prestige and excellence in service and reputation our client a specialist tour operator is now seeking a reservations consultant with proven experience of the Polar Region to join their specialist reservations team. This new role is key to the overall success and continued expansion of our Polar Team over the next 3-5 years. It would ideally suit someone ambitious, who thrives on making a difference and prides themselves on their knowledge and commitment to their customers.
As part of a reservations team your primary role will be to help spearhead Polar reservations sales to achieve aggressive growth plans. You will also be responsible for seeking out new product ideas, fostering close working relations with our key partners and supporting the marketing of your destinations.
The job is primarily office-based, however at times will require flexibility - to meet suppliers, customer meetings, attend industry events and to travel overseas as part of an educational.
Key skills & experience required
·A real passion and enthusiasm for the Polar Regions
·Experienced Travel Sales consultant with proven record (minimum 2 years)
·Prior experience selling Antarctica &/or The Arctic (minimum 1 year)
·First hand experience of Antarctica &/or Arctic
·Good understanding of expeditionary cruising
·In-depth product knowledge of the destination(s) and main industry players
·Excellent communication skills, particularly by phone to an international clientele
·An ability to inspire potential customers
·Self-motivated and ambitious to achieve
·Well-developed analytical skills
·Excellent organisational skills and adept at prioritising
·Strong can-do attitude and drive to overachieve
·Keenness to be part of and contribute to a rapidly expanding team
·A team player with personality and a 'work hard/ play hard' mentality
·Impeccable client facing skills and a commitment to customer service
·High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
·A good listener with well-developed writing skills
·Technically competent - good general computing as well as typing skills
·Degree level educated
