What it's like to work here

Visitors lose themselves in this romantic moated manor house, described by David Starkey as 'one of the most beautiful and interesting of English country houses'. Ightham Mote, built nearly 700 years ago, has seen many changes and been owned by Medieval knights, courtiers to Henry VIII and high society Victorians. The welcoming team provide a fantastic customer service, and in joining this team, you'll become part of the family too.

What you'll be doing

As the Premises Assistant, you'll assist with the day to day upkeep, cleanliness and presentation of the National Trust's buildings and outdoor spaces. You'll turn your practical hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks, ensuring all our facilities are kept in good working order. You'll also be asked to help with some manual work such as supporting events. You'll ensure that Ightham Mote is compliant with local and national regulations too.

Duties such as general maintenance, cleaning, sweeping and litter picking will form a core part of the role, both inside and outdoors. You'll ensure the highest standards of customer service across the area by always implementing a 'customer comes first' attitude. Helping within other teams will also form part of your role.

The role will require some weekend, bank holiday working on a rota basis.

The package

9,040 per annum. Permanent, part time role, 1,170 hrs per year.
